Panteia delivers keynote speech at IRU Workshop on Driver Shortage

published: 17-10-2018

The current and future shortage of drivers is one of main challenges of the transport sector. This shortage is only expected to increase in the future if no actions are taken.

The transportation workforce is ageing and transport activity is expected to grow in the future. If not properly addressed, the driver shortage will harm the growth of the transport sector and the economy eventually.

Against this background the International Road Union (IRU) organised a workshop February 28th 2018 exchange views, share best practices, and generate ideas to address the problem of driver shortage. It is important to recruit young people in order to deal with the ageing workforce of professional drivers.

In the session of young drivers, Panteia was invited to deliver a keynote speech on the findings of a study on how to make EU transport sector jobs attractive to future generations. The presentation of Panteia can be downloaded below. If you have any questions about the presentation or the study, we are more than happy to help you.
